The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals in the community through supporting spay/neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving permanent homes, and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
 
At this time, the Suffolk Humane Society does not operate its own animal shelter. Rather, it supports the efforts of the Suffolk Animal Control shelter and other public and private animal shelters in the area, with the core objective to eliminate euthanasia as a means to control overpopulation.
